WORSHIP AT NEWBURGH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP is at 8:15am and 10:45am and 12:00 noon. We are one church worshiping one God revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but we worship at different times, in different styles and even in different places.
Our 8:15a.m. service is a traditional Midwestern United Methodist worship service utilizing meaningful liturgy that connects us to the past while being relevant to the 21st Century, and a mix of ancient, traditional and contemporary music. Our music ministry includes our Chancel Choir, Bells of Joy, instrumental ensembles and children's choirs.
At 9:30am, come and join one of our many Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults.
Our 10:45a.m. service is a blended service using contemporary and traditional music and some liturgy.
The Joshua Tree, which meets at noon in our Family Life Center, is a worshipping community in the emergent style.
Of course, regardless of hour or style, our worship is firmly centered on the Bible.
SACRAMENTS in our tradition are the Lord's Supper (also known as Holy Communion or the Eucharist) and Baptism. We share the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month at our 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. services. We practice open Communion, so everyone is welcome at the Lord's Table here. Baptism is available for people of all ages and conditions; children, youth, and adults. While we do not rebaptize, we offer worshippers the opportunity to renew their baptismal vows regularly. Baptisms are done during our worship services, so if you wish to be baptized or have your child baptized, please call the church office (853-2946) or e-mail the pastor at

KINGDOM BUILDERS * Sunday mornings * release time from 8:15 & 10:45am worship * Room G-12 Children's worship time is not just a place for the kids to play while the adults worship. At NUMC the children (3 years through Kindergarten) stay in the sanctuary during all the opening hymns and Scripture. Before the offering and sermon they are released by Pastor Mark to go to Kingdom Builders. They sing a few songs and have their own lesson. They also have their own time of prayer. Children are encouraged to share their concerns and praises and present them to God. The hope of the Children's Ministry team is that children will gain confidence praying before a group of peers and that they will enjoy worshipping God as children and be prepared to worship in the sanctuary by the time they enter first grade.
Worship
Welcome from the pastor
Welcome to Newburgh United Methodist Church. We are a family and community of faith that values making new relationships, growing deeper in our life journey with Jesus, enlarging our circles of friends and, most of all, being faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Bible is the heart of our church. Our worship is centered on Scripture. We have many opportunities for our members to learn more about the Bible through diverse Bible studies throughout the week. We even have a daily e-Devotional available via e-mail.
We love people of all ages and stages of life. Through our weekday children's ministries, learning and social activities for children and youth, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, senior adult activities, singles activities, women's groups, sports ministries we seek to minister to the whole person and to introduce people to Jesus in positive ways. Through our local and global missions, we offer help and hope to hurting people in our community and around the world.
We would love for you to be part of our faith community as we worship, study, play and serve together.
Come worship with us next Sunday!
In Christ and in hope,

Pastor Mark L. Dicken
