Our mission at Newburgh United Methodist is to be:
Growing Passionate Disciples.
That means we are working every day in every ministry to help people develop into enthusiastic and committed followers of Jesus Christ. We continue to do that every day with children, youth, families, and adults of every age.
We’re growing faith in people. It is our task to discover and provide ways to help people grow in their trust of and in their relationship with Christ. Whether it is through classes, small (Life) groups, worship or even missional opportunities locally and beyond to serve, we are committed to encourage and provide the discipleship process for all people of every age.
We’re developing passion in people. We believe that when people discover the real Jesus and enter into a life with him, passion follows. It is a passion for one another, a passion for serving, a passion that drives ordinary people to do extraordinary things. So our task is to introduce people to Jesus Christ and to provide an environment where that relationship can blossom.
We’re making disciples. A disciple is a student, but more than that, a student whose whole life mimics their teacher. It is not simply about believing in or even knowing about Jesus, rather it is learning to follow Jesus by keeping his commands, learning his style, following his way with God and with people.
We're teaching solid doctrine from our rich and varied United Methodist tradition that focuses on the grace of God working in and on us until we come fully into the kingdom of God.
